As part of their current objectives, the new FastCat ferries will be introduced progressively by the Archipelago Philippines Ferries Corporation over the next five years, with the first batch of 10 commencing services from July 2013.
The first Fastcat will sail from Batangas on Luzon Island to Calapan on Mindoro Island in the Philippines.
It is hoped that the ferries will reduce travel times and costs for passengers. A FastCat ferry is said to be able to accommodate approximately 300 passengers, along with seven buses or light trucks and around 20 cars.
The passenger seats present on the new ferries will feature two shades of blue E‑Leather for the upholstery of business class and premium economy class seating. In combination with modern design throughout the vessel, the APFC have been able to successfully implement a welcoming interior with a hint of luxury that such a material brings – satisfying designers, operators and customers alike.
E‑Leather is also present in the ferry control room, which provides a sleek and professional finish that is in keeping with FastCat’s corporate branding.
Mr Christopher Pastrana, C.E.O of APFC commented: “E‑Leather provides an environmentally friendly solution, plus the appearance and durability we require. It’s a win win because it looks great and also helps to reduce operating costs.”
