Swindon based operator Barnes Coaches are evaluating the use of ELeather in its touring fleet. The VDL Bova Futura, purchased through Moseley of the South, has now been in service for over 12 months and Barnes’ Managing Director – Luke Barnes, is more than satisfied with the performance of the eco-friendly material so far.
“When we looked to specify the vehicle we considered several alternative seating materials but chose ELeather because of the significant savings in both weight and cost compared to ‘traditional leather'”, commented Luke.
After a year in operation, the material looks as good as new with no signs of ‘bagging or stretching’ on the Brusa recliner seats.
On a 55 seater coach, ELeather can make the difference of over 60kg without compromising on comfort.
