ELeather is the pioneer of engineered leather. Our revolutionary process transforms leather into advanced materials while achieving a significantly lower environmental footprint.
The Bus Collection provides operators and seat makers with a range of products specifically engineered to comply with bus and coach industry regulations across the world.
Our Bus comfort range presents a superior bus and coach upholstery alternative to other, conventional materials. Whether for high footfall city buses or luxurious long-journey coaches, engineered leather will elevate interior of any vehicle.
The material is available in a range of stock colours and finishes, to match any branding requirements.
Our new comfort bus range complies with fire protection standard ECE R118.03 annex 7 and annex 8 that meets requirements of the EU and UK bus markets and is widely recognised in other regions. It also comes in a new selection of standard colours.
One of bus operators’ greatest priorities is to source reliable vehicles that will cope being in constant use – no matter the season or weather conditions. This doesn’t just mean mechanical component of the vehicle but also the interior and how well it copes serving hundreds of passengers day after day. Our engineered leather is up to five times more durable than traditional leather with proven in-service longevity meaning reduced need for retrims and fleet refurbishments. Thanks to its engineered properties no bagging occurs, even in local city buses with highest footfall of passengers. This means seats look luxurious and are more durable for longer. Our products are certified to the latest industry standards to ensure passenger safety. The material is also rigorously tested by a 3rd party testing organisation to ensure compliance with regional fire safety regulations of the bus and coach industry.
Bus and coach operators face their unique challenges in maintaining their fleets whilst offering the best possible passenger experience. From high passenger turnaround that leads to suitcases, shopping bags or event pets placed in seats, to more lengthy coach trips that often result in food and drink spillages or other stains when passengers make themselves comfortable. ELeather is one of the most convenient upholstery options in those situations thanks to its wipe clean surface. Compared to steam or dry cleaning required with fabric or deep cleaning and careful maintenance of traditional leather, engineered leather not only reduces the need for chemical cleaning but also reduces turnaround time when the vehicle comes back to the depot. This means that with minimum maintenance, bus interiors retain their premium look for longer.
Consumers respond to brands and over time grow to recognise, not just the logo or the slogan but also more subtle branding examples such as colour palettes or even just symbols. This is the reason many bus and coach operators seek to upholster their vehicle in their brand colours or at least a palette that compliments them. ELeather comes in 22 stock colours and a wide range of finishes that can achieve a traditional or modern look and are available on a 48-hour lead time. For those occasions where stock colours aren’t enough, we also offer bespoke colour matching service to provide brand consistency and better passenger experience all round.
In recent years increased number of people have been using public transport such as city buses or coaches (for longer trips) as a more sustainable alternative to driving. Operators now have the chance to choose more environmentally friendly material when upholstering their vehicles to give consumers even more confidence in their choice. Engineered leather reduces the weight of each seat and therefore vehicle meaning better fuel economy. Not only that, it contains no plastic (PVCs) and its production saves thousands of tons of leather waste each year. Our unique production process has a significantly lower environmental impact offering a more responsible material choice, making it is especially attractive option for providers of city buses where local authorities are focusing on reducing the region’s carbon footprint.
Our material is not only reliable in terms of performance but also appearance – it is produced on a roll and each of those is inspected for defects such as discolouration. This ensures consistency in colour and finish throughout the roll maximising yield and reducing waste and cost in manufacturing. Thanks to its proven in-service longevity, engineered leather reduces the need for frequent refurbishments when compared to other upholstery materials and, as the material retains its luxury ‘just been crafted’ look for longer, it allows operators to offer better value for money and more pleasant passenger experience.
Seat cover production is made easy with ELeather as the material is stable and predictable which makes patterning and cutting more efficient and reduces production waste.
