E‑Leather has won a significant contract in the rail sector following an agreement with New Zealand’s leading transport operator.

The deal with KiwiRail has seen four carriages on its TranzMetro services, which operate out of the capital – Wellington, refurbished using E‑Leather. KiwiRail considered several alternatives for the interim refurbishment, but E‑Leather provided a cost effective choice, meeting the exacting standard for texture, quality, colour, flame resistance and cleaning.
Randall Prestidge, depots manager for Passenger Group at KiwiRail, commented: “E‑Leather looks like leather, feels like leather, but gives us better value. We would not consider leather because of cost, but E‑Leather is affordable and is perceived by our customers as more luxurious than alternative materials.”

“The availability of E‑Leather in a continuous roll form substantially increased the economy in comparison to traditional leather.”
