Our senior management team has expanded with a recent addition of a new Chief Operating Officer – John Walker.John Walker profile pic

John has joined ELeather after a successful career in advanced materials manufacturing having previously held senior roles as a CEO and COO. His new role involves looking after the order to fulfilment process, implementing a sustainable operating strategy and future proofing business operations across a number of functions including purchasing, customer service, quality and more.

In his past roles, John saw companies through times of accelerated business growth and scalability and he is looking forward to guiding ELeather through a similar transition as the business expands in the coming years.

John enjoys working with and coaching people as well as developing teams and is looking forward to introducing even more cross team collaboration at ELeather. He practices a respectful management style where the key is to keep the team engaged, be creative and encourage employees to live and work in a sustainable way, while having fun and changing the world.

Asked, what attracted him to the role John says “I had three criteria when looking for a new position 1) to work with disruptive new technology 2) to work for a company that has high growth potential 3) to work for a company that has a positive impact on the world, and ELeather ticked all of those boxes and several more”.

Though he’s one of the company’s newest additions, John is already getting stuck in “I enjoy the fact that ELeather is a fast growing, technology led company providing a unique product that also has a positive impact on the world – turning unused leather into an engineered material with potentially endless number of applications. It’s also fun to work for a company that has an element of fashion to it!”.

Having lived or worked in more than 50 (!) countries around the world, John and his family are currently living in Cornwall with their Bengal cat, Norman, although the move to the East of England is on the cards in the not so distant future.

Outside of work, John spends his free time enjoying many hobbies such as golf or sailing (some of his recent sailing trips include the Greek islands and sailing around the coast of California). He is also an avid skier although he leaves the speed runs to his children.

On behalf of ELeather family, we would like to welcome John to the team.
