Here, at ELeather, we’re a pretty passionate team. We pride ourselves on the fact that with every meter of material we produce, we’re not just turning waste into something valuable, but also doing it with a process that saves vast quantities of energy and water while also reducing CO2 emissions.
We’d like to introduce you to one member of our team:

This is Lee.
Officially, he’s the Head of Compliance and Supply at ELeather.
Unofficially, he’s ELeather’s voice of sustainability.
Lee originally comes from the world of supply chain management. In his own words, working in that sector is what led him to a real passion for sustainability and ultimately to joining ELeather 8 years ago. Read this article, where, in his own words he describes the close relationship between supply and sustainability.
Over the coming weeks, he’ll help us dive into the topic of sustainability and what it really means. In the meantime, we’ve asked him few completely unrelated questions, so you get to know him a little better:
What’s the best thing about working at ELeather: I love the ‘get up and go’ that my team have – I love seeing them going the extra mile for the business, and I love seeing them succeed together.
What do you enjoy doing in your spare time: Being a rubbish gardener, an OK runner, a soft touch for my animals, and being far too competitive over things I’m told are supposed to be ‘only for fun’.
What are you really passionate about: My wife.
What did you want to be when you grew up: Astronaut, Archaeologist, Palaeontologist, Microbiologist, Computer Games Designer… And I’m sure about 50 other things!
What would be your last meal on earth: My wife’s vegan paella. Specifically cooked by her, and specifically using the fake meats she buys – it’s perfect.
What would be your superpower or what would you do if you were prime minister for a day: I would change the national curriculum to make sure Critical Thinking Skills are taught at every level of education as a core topic. Many people haven’t even heard of them – but they stop us all getting conned, having the wool pulled over our eyes, and allow us to make better decisions.
